A 5.1 km gravel road linking the Hoodaale relocation site to Garowe: 10.2 ha cleared, 12,595 m³ of sub-base, 3,060 m³ of crushed base, 10,200 m of side drains and an 18 × 12 m reinforced-concrete Irish crossing.
Hoodaale is a relocation site for displaced families outside Garowe. Without an all-weather road, residents were cut off from schools, clinics and work in town. Funded by the World Bank through the Norwegian Refugee Council, this 5.1 km gravel road connects the two.
The works cleared 10.2 ha, placed 12,595 m³ of sub-base and 3,060 m³ of crushed aggregate base, cut 10,200 m of V-shaped side drains and built an 18 × 12 m reinforced-concrete Irish crossing where the road meets a seasonal watercourse. Mecco Engineering supervised the contract, completed in 2023.
This project was delivered by TTN Construction, SOTEC's partner. It is shown to illustrate the joint capability available to clients.
