Four city roads (Tawfiq Road, 30th Street, Street 3 Injida and Wadajir Road) built to World Bank ESHS standards, with drainage, kerbs, sidewalks, signage, landscaping and bus-bay canopies.
Funded by the World Bank and supervised by UNOPS, this package rebuilt four of Garowe's busiest streets: Tawfiq Road, 30th Street, Street 3 Injida and Wadajir Road, 6.3 km in total.
Beyond the pavement itself, the contract delivered everything that makes a city street work: drainage channels and Irish crossings, concrete kerbs, interlocking-block sidewalks, traffic signs and reflective markings, landscaping and sheltered bus bays. All of it was built under an environmental, social, health and safety management plan, completed in 2022 for USD 3.73 million.
