Runway extension to 2,450 m with a new taxiway and parking apron, allowing scheduled jet services into Garowe.
Garowe is the capital of Puntland, and its airport is the region's link to Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Addis Ababa and the Gulf. Before this contract the runway limited the aircraft that could land.
For the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airports, TTN extended the runway to 2,450 m at a width of 40 m and built a new taxiway and parking apron. The works were completed in 2020 for USD 7.99 million, and the airport now handles scheduled jet services from several airlines.
This project was delivered by TTN Construction, SOTEC's partner. It is shown to illustrate the joint capability available to clients.
