Earthworks, foundation preparation and external works for the Kempinski Hotel on the Djibouti waterfront, delivered with Soprim Construction.
The Kempinski Hotel, known locally as the Palais Kempinski, sits on its own peninsula on the Djibouti waterfront and is the city's best-known landmark hotel. SOTEC worked on the project with Soprim Construction.
Our scope was the ground beneath the building: bulk excavation and engineered backfill on a coastal site, preparation of the foundation platform and the external works around the hotel. Coastal ground and a high water table made compaction control and drainage the critical issues.
Projects marked SOTEC include work by SOTEC and by its founder before the company was registered in 2012.
